This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Covenant platform provided by GovernUp Solutions, LLC. This AUP supplements our Terms of Use. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.
1. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Covenant platform to:
Illegal & Harmful Activities
- Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
- Engage in or facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
- Distribute malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage systems
- Attempt unauthorized access to other users' accounts, community data, or platform systems
- Circumvent security measures, access controls, or rate limits
Discrimination & Harassment
- Engage in discriminatory conduct that violates the Fair Housing Act or any applicable civil rights law
- Draft, distribute, or enforce community policies that discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
- Post content that promotes violence or hatred toward any individual or group
Misuse of Platform Features
- Use AI features to generate deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent content
- Abuse the SMS/messaging system for spam, unsolicited marketing, or phishing
- Manipulate voting or governance tools to undermine legitimate community processes
- Create fake accounts or impersonate other residents, board members, or management staff
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform for use outside the Services
2. Content Standards
Content posted to the social feed, forum, messaging, or any public-facing area of the platform must not contain:
- Obscene, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent material
- Content that infringes on another person's intellectual property rights
- Personal information of others posted without their consent (doxxing)
- Spam, excessive self-promotion, or commercial solicitation unrelated to community business
- Deliberately false or misleading information about community governance, finances, or operations
You retain ownership of your content. By posting, you grant the platform a license to display and transmit it as described in the Terms of Use.
3. Content Moderation
Community managers and board members may moderate content within their communities, including:
- Hiding or removing social feed posts, forum topics, and comments that violate this AUP or community guidelines
- Locking forum threads to prevent further replies
- Issuing warnings to users who violate content standards
GovernUp reserves the right to remove any content that violates this AUP, applicable law, or that poses a risk to platform security, regardless of community-level moderation decisions.
4. SMS and Communication Rules
- Do not use the platform's SMS or messaging features for unsolicited commercial messages or spam
- Do not send threatening, harassing, or abusive messages to management or other residents
- Management teams must comply with TCPA regulations when sending SMS broadcasts, including honoring opt-out requests immediately
- Mass communication features (SMS broadcasts, mass emails) must be used only for legitimate community business
5. AI Feature Usage
- Do not use AI features to generate content intended to deceive or mislead community members
- Do not attempt to bypass AI content filters or safety guardrails
- Do not use AI-generated content as a substitute for professional legal, financial, or medical advice
- Report any concerning, inaccurate, or harmful AI outputs to your community manager
6. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning: First-time or minor violations may result in a written notice
- Content Removal: Violating content may be hidden or deleted without notice
- Account Suspension: Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary account suspension
- Account Termination: Severe or ongoing violations may result in permanent removal from the platform
GovernUp will make reasonable efforts to notify users of enforcement actions and provide an opportunity to address concerns, except where immediate action is necessary to protect platform security or user safety.
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates this AUP, please report it to your community manager or contact us directly at support@governupsolutions.com. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
