Our Commitment

GovernUp Solutions, LLC is committed to ensuring the Covenant platform is accessible to all community residents, board members, and management professionals, including people with disabilities. We believe every resident deserves equal access to their community's governance tools, financial information, and communication channels.

Accessibility Standards

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. Our ongoing efforts include:

  • Semantic HTML: Proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and ARIA roles to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields, modals) are fully accessible via keyboard. Skip-to-content links are provided on key dashboard pages.
  • ARIA Labels: Descriptive labels on all icon-only buttons, interactive controls, and dynamic content areas to ensure screen reader compatibility.
  • Modal Accessibility: All dialog modals include role="dialog" and aria-label attributes. Focus management is being progressively enhanced.
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
  • Live Regions: Notification badges, toast notifications, and key dynamic content updates use aria-live attributes to announce changes to screen reader users.
  • Responsive Design: The platform is usable on devices of all sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors, with touch-friendly targets.
  • Form Accessibility: Form inputs include labels and placeholder text. We are progressively enhancing label associations across all forms.

Known Limitations

While we work to ensure comprehensive accessibility, some areas may have limitations:

  • Some third-party embedded content (payment forms via Stripe) may have accessibility characteristics outside our direct control.
  • Complex data visualizations (charts, graphs) provide data in alternative text and table formats where feasible.
  • AI-generated content is reviewed for clarity but may not always meet plain-language standards.
