Built for Communities, by a Community

Covenant is the community management platform we wished existed when we were running our own HOA.

What We Believe

Our Principles

Transparency First

Every financial transaction, every board decision, every policy change — visible to the people who need to see it. No more black-box governance.

Technology for Everyone

Not just for tech-savvy boards. We build software that works for every resident, every age, every skill level. If you can send a text, you can use Covenant.

Community Over Corporation

We serve the people who live in these communities, not just the companies that manage them. Residents deserve a seat at the table.

Security Without Compromise

256-bit encryption, role-based access, comprehensive audit trails, and privacy by design. Your community's data is sacred.

Our Story

Proudly Built in Maryland

GovernUp Solutions was founded in Upper Marlboro, Maryland — in the heart of Prince George's County. We're not a Silicon Valley startup building software for communities we've never lived in.

Our founder lives in an HOA community and experienced firsthand the frustration of outdated management tools, opaque financials, and terrible communication between boards, managers, and residents.

That frustration became the blueprint for Covenant — a platform built by someone who actually sits through annual meetings, pays assessments, and files maintenance requests. We know what works because we live it every day.

The Problem

The Problem We're Solving

Legacy HOA software is broken. Platforms like AppFolio and Buildium were built for apartment rentals, not community associations. They charge expensive per-unit fees for features HOAs don't need, while lacking the governance tools boards actually require. The result is fragmented tools, ugly interfaces that look like they were designed in 2010, and communities paying too much for too little.

The communication gap is even worse. Boards rely on email chains that half the community never reads. Residents miss paper notices taped to the clubhouse door. Managers juggle five different platforms just to send an announcement, collect a payment, and respond to a maintenance request — all before lunch.

Covenant is one platform where residents can pay dues and submit requests, boards can govern transparently with real-time financial oversight and online voting, and managers can operate efficiently with multi-channel communications and portfolio tools — with AI that actually makes governing documents useful instead of collecting dust on a shelf.
